Welcome to the delicious world of The Cakery!

The Cakery began five years ago as a bakery and deli in San Luis Obispo, specializing in custom-designed wedding and all occasion cakes. It soon became wildly successful — which was a good thing — but also became a bit of a distraction from what we love to do best, which is design and bake one-of-a-kind wedding cakes for a couple's special day. So in January, 2010, we sold our retail store and deli and moved to Dancing Deer Farm, in the heart of the wine country in Templeton. Here we have a dedicated cake design studio where we can give our clients the full attention, creativity and service they have come to expect from The Cakery. We bake the highest quality cakes, crafting them by hand using the finest and freshest ingredients including whole eggs, real butter, and pure vanilla.





Owner-Chef, Yarrow Morse: The warmth and creativity that are the soul of The Cakery owe their origins to pastry chef Yarrow Morse. Her passion and love for baking are an integral part of each recipe and she is happiest when watching customers delight in one of her artistic and mouth-watering cakes. Yarrow has been working as a pastry chef for over eleven years and has apprenticed under two master bakers. Her work has been featured in an exhibit of edible art in San Francisco. She holds a BFA in photography from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
